Our Core Values
As a faith community, all our core values point people to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior who through His perfect life of obedience, death on the Cross for our sins and glorious resurrection, invites all people to a life-saving relationship with Himself. We acknowledge that like all other people, we too are sinners in need of Gods grace and forgiveness.
Gods call to us to live a holy life modeled on the life of Jesus Christ is only made possible through the Holy Spirits power in us to live out Christs two great commandments: Love God with all your heart and Love your neighbor as yourself. As Seventh-day Adventist Christians, all that we do for Him is filtered through these values for the glory of God.
1. AUTHENTICITY
As a community of believers we are called to live out our faith by forming authentic relationships with all people. At our church, people are encouraged to be transparent, real and vulnerable with one another. Psalms 15:1-3 ; Ephesians 4:25
2. RESPECT
Every human being is uniquely created in the image of God and must be treated with utmost respect and love.
1 Peter 2:17 ; Acts 10:28
3. ACCEPTANCE
As Christians we see ourselves as unworthy sinners in need of Gods grace. Because God has so graciously forgiven us in Christ and accepts us into His family, we therefore commit to share His grace and acceptance to all people. Ephesians 4:32 ; Acts 10:34-35
4. COMMUNITY
God love compels us to live in a loving, inclusive and united community of faith. We value each person as an integral part of Gods family as we work together in a spirit of humility and cooperation as we grow together here in Surrey. Psalms 133:1 ; Ephesians 4:1-3
5. RELEVANCE
We commit to being a community of believers who are culturally relevant while remaining faithful to Bible truths. Matthew 5:13-16
6. EXCELLENCE
In giving all of Himself to us, God gave His best. Therefore, we commit to giving our best to God in all we do for Him and others. 1 Corinthians 14:12 ; Ephesians 6:7
7. SPIRITUAL GROWTH
We are called to grow spiritually in every area of our lives. The Holy Spirit actively transforms us into the likeness of Christs character through constant prayer, meditation on Gods Word and loving service to those around us. 2 Peter 1:5-8 ; 2 Peter 3:18 ; Hebrews 5:12-14
8. COMPASSION
The life of our Lord Jesus Christ embodies the very essence of compassion and relational care. His example challenges us to forsake our own desires and to act compassionately toward all people. Lamentations 3:22-23 ;
Mark 8:1-3
9. COMMITMENT
The reality of the cross calls us to total commitment to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We therefore, commit to support all people through selfless and dedicated service. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 ; Luke 9:23-25
10. EVANGELISM
Every person is a child of God and matters to Him and therefore matters to us. We exist to imbibe the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ to save people for his eternal kingdom. Matthew 28:19-20 ; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 ;
Luke 19:10
